EASY DOES IT SINCE 2004

Easyriders is a family run, friendly, professional and well
established watersports centre in Sandbanks, Poole,
Dorset. As a Team we live in the water and have huge
amounts of passion for what we do. Teaching
Kitesurfing, SUP, Wingsurfing, Windsurfing, everything
Foiling and we simply love it.

We have been teaching all our lives with over 100yrs of
combined experience all over the world.

Setting up Easyriders in 2004, we were the first for
kitesurfing, SUP, Foiling and more recently Wingsurfing.

Andy has led the way in watersports tuition writing the
teaching structure for all these sports for the UK and
world governing bodies, and a few books too.

We are fully accredited by all the necessary bodies.

    Meet the team

    Andy Gratwick

    Head Honcho

    Easyriders founder, Andy Gratwick has been in the watersports game since the early 90’s. A competitive windsurfer, British kite racing champion, Caribbean wingfoil racing champion. A passionate multi watersports and foiling pioneer of the last few decades, Andy has written numerous training syllabus for kitesurfing, SUP, wingfoiling, efoiling both for the UK and the world governing bodies in these sports.  
    He has taught instructor training on every continent and was the first multi discipline kite, windsurf, SUP and wing trainer. 
    Along with a successful watersports business in Sandbanks Dorset since 2004 he established an international coaching holiday business back in 07′ which takes people to some of the finest waves and watersports spots on earth.
    He also has a couple of cheeky kids, an amazingly understanding wife and a fab dog;-)

    Amanda Gratwick

    Brand Designer

    Amanda is the brains behind the beauty of the Easyriders brand. The behind the scenes superwoman of our marketing and team well-being and creator of Easyriders popular clothing brand Easy Threads.
    Amanda does all this whilst running her own design company, creating beautiful ocean resin pieces, being supermum and squeezing in a stormy kite session when she can.

    Gemma Soloman

    School & Holidays Ops Manager

    Gemma has been part of the Easyriders furniture since 2014, organising the school logistics in Poole and planning the details of the overseas trip to help Andy & Easyriders deliver you a trip of a lifetime.
    With a passion for the waves, Gemma has competed in the GKA kitesurf world tour and won a couple of national champion titles. When she’s not kiting the waves she’s tow foiling them or obliviously attempting to surf some way beyond her ability level

    Aaron Spence

    Head Instructor

    Aaron joined us for his work experience placement back in 2020 and has been a part of the team ever since, progressing his own kitesurfing and winging skills to now become are lead instructor. He has embraced the watersports instructor journey with us qualifying as a SUP, kite and wingfoil instructor. On a session with Aaron you can expect to be taught with patience and enthusiasm.

    Ricky Barrett

    Kite and Wing instructor

    Ricky joined the team early 2026 with lots of experience working in kite schools all over the globe. Ricky is from South Africa and where kitesurfing has been part of his life since he was very young. Ricky has quickly adjusted to the uk realising that sadly it is not as warm as a lot of the places he is been but he is happy to say the UK is home. Kiting is a part of rickys lifestyle and is happy making it a lifestyle for many more

    Lou Ives

    Shop Manger

    The oldest member of the easy team, not in age, but in duration on the team. Lou has worked within the surf industry all her life with almost 20 years at Animal the iconic Poole based clothing brand. She has been with easyriders since 2012….ish;-) keeping the office in order and now manages our new beachfront shop ‘Easyriders Sandbanks Beach Club’. She is also very much the life & soul and social secretary of the team.

    Melissa Fascione

    Center Logistics & SPDO

    Melissa has been surrounded by watersports all her life with an avid windsurfer for a hubby and a hell raising big wave surfer for a brother, she is a windsurfer at heart with a few Neilson seasons under her belt in her younger days. She also likes to go from 0 to level 17 on an E-foil while screaming with joy. She has helped develop the BKSA’s youth program introducing young people to new skills outside the classroom, the other half to the Lou & Melissa double act providing a witty atmosphere and core to our team all year.

    Jack Asquith

    Jack has been a valuable member of the team since 2023 qualifying as a wingfoil and kitesurfing instructor. Jack is always down the beach doing some sort of watersport as he is a keen windsurfer, winger and a very good kitesurfer. jack works as a mechanic for the RNLI so being around or on the water is a massive part of his life. On a lesson with jack you can expect good comedy, safe teaching and a good instructor to help you progress.

    Poppy Ives

    Shop Team

    Poppy is a lively and cheerful member of our shop team and is excited to learn new water-sports this year and enhancing her watersports career to be a jedi on the e-foils . She dreams of traveling the world, eager to explore new cultures and experiences. along with becoming a teacher and inspiring the youth. Her adventurous spirit brings joy to those around her. Poppy greets every customer at easyriders making them feel like they are at home.

    Luke Nichols

    Kite Instructor

    Luke joined our team in 2021 for his volunteering section of Duke of Edinburgh and has been a valuable part of the team ever since. Now a qualified kite instructor, Luke continues to develop his freestyle and surfboard skills along with instructor knowledge, and his aim to gain his wingfoil instructor qualification.

    With Luke you can expect an enjoyable and informative kiting experience on a lesson

    Freddie Pengelly

    Assistant Instructor

    Freddie has grown into the watersports industry becoming a very good kiter and e-foiler with his sighs set in wingfoiling in the near future. Freddie has been working as part of the trailer team and always being around to help land and launch and answer any questions Freddie has jumped on the instructor pathway to soon be a kite instructor.

    Max Savage

    Assistant instructor

    Max Joined the team of the back of his work experience placement and has been able to progress to a wing instructor and soon to be kite instructor with his kiting skill improving everytime there is wind. Max is a valuable member of the trailer team making sure all lessons and rentals have all the equipment they need.

    Rach Younger

    Kite instructor

    Rach evolved from a frequent easyriders coaching holiday customer to one of our kite instructors having swapped out the rat race of London for her own consultancy business and a work life balance that gives her more time on the water.
    Rachels empathetic style of teaching, always with a smile, is a huge asset to our team.

    Adham Omar

    Kite Instructor

    Adham is one of are key freelance instructors who is always keen to get out on the water. Adham has lots of experience teaching as he used to be a physics teacher in another life. Adham has lots of amazing expeinces traveling all over the globe and now has became a qualified kite instructor

    Dom Holden

    Kite, Wing & Foil Instructor

    Dom joined the Easy Team back in 2016 as a beach assistant ‘grom’ and progressed through the years to become our head instructor, he’s now starting his career in the police but still keeping in with the occasional teaching session.
    On his days off he can be found boosting off the seafront or playing the bagpipes!

    Julian Lockwood

    Wingfoil Instructor

    Jules has been a fundamental part of the local windsurf scene since the 80’s, now focusing his energy (of which there is tons!) in to wingfoiling. He’s an advocate for the sport with a load of passion for both progressing himself, teaching it to others and being a part of the Easyriders Crew.

    When not on the water you can most likely find Jules, running, biking or walking his 2 spaniels.
